If you have been able to download it… Then, you may proceed to the nearest Malaysian Embassy in your home country along with other required documents to apply for the SEV. I guess you are Nigerian. Hence, you may proceed to VFS office in Abuja to apply for the SEV along with other documents. If you haven’t been able to download it… You can…[Read more]

Means after the vetting. EMGS will submit your application to the immigration department for Val Approval purpose. That’s on the condition that no other document will be required to be submitted. If otherwise, they will ask you to submit the additional document through your institution before submitting your application to the immigration…[Read more]

Oh well understood now. Tnxs KZ. One more thing, do I need to provide NIRC and telephone no of my proposed university (UTM) in malaysia. These are required on the visa application form. If yes where do I get NRIC and phone no of my institution?
-
You are welcome sir. NIRC not compulsory… But for phone number… I think that should be contained in your offer letter. If otherwise, then, you can leave that blank too.
-
Thank you bro. What of duration of proposed stay. What do you suggest in case of PhD study which is 3 to 4 years? This is for SEV application purpose only
-
For the duration of proposed stay… You can include the number of months as contained in your offer letter…. But if the number of months is within the range of two years… Then, you can include between 3 – 5 years. But 5 years is the maximum for PhD.

No… You don’t need IIUM representative to get the Special Pass at the Airport. As long as you hold all the required documents. EMGS counter would be your first point of call when you alight from the train at the airport if I can remember. There, your VAL and admission letter would be requested for sighting and Validation (probably). From there,…[Read more]

You can get the Special Pass at the Airport without IIUM representative. Just proceed to the EMGS desk at the airport and from there to the immigration desk where you will provide your Offer letter, VAL and Visa (if applicable) and your passport for the issuance of the Special pass. The special pass can range between 14 – 30 days. And you are…[Read more]

The fee you paid to the University – EMGS is for the processing and issuance of your Visa Approval Letter while the fee you will pay at the Malaysian Embassy – VFS in your home country is for Single Entry Visa which is always at a lesser fee compare to what you paid for the VAL. Meanwhile, you need the VAL as part of the required documents for the…[Read more]

Well. What if I’m Egyptian and don’t need a visa to enter Malaysia, can I travel with my VAL once ready and without approaching the Malaysian Embassy in my country?
-
In that case, I advise you kindly wait for the information that will communicated via the Visa Approval Letter upon download. You will be directed further in the letter on what and what you need to do.

No I’m actually in Malaysia so is there something i can do or i just wait? Thanks for the help
-
If you are in Malaysia already. Then, you are expected to complete your post arrival medical screening within 7 days and submit your passport and SEV with other required documents to EMGS in order to be able to continue your application towards getting your student pass. I suggest you liaise with the visa unit of your institution on this.
