It’s not a problem at all when you arrive earlier before your intake.. your institution will proceed with your student pass application once you arrive to the country and have done and passed your medical. Good luck.

Hello! You have to send an email to EMGS stating reason why you’re going to cancel the application. Then they will provide you with further steps

I have experienced such situation i cancelled my previous application to apply for new. EMGS can only cancel the application if the university request for cancellation

First i applied as progression but as my old student pass got expired so i had to cancel it apply as new applicant.
Your uni will appy by 1 or 2 days

Hey guys just submitted my passport for SEV today in Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, Indonesia. Wanna share documents needed (this is for indonesia for other countries might be different)
-1 set of offer letter from your uni
-Printed VAL (Visa Approval Letter)

Aww do not worry u will get VAL soon. To 32 to 35 takes 1 to 2 working days and from 35 to 70 VAL approval takes 7 working days.. it will be fine if they dont required additional docs u will get VAL within 2 weeks.

I seee. I think you will make it just in time. Approval takes 7 days and after that sev only takes 3 working days. Maybe u will be late for 2 to 3 days and miss orientation but im sure u wont miss out that much.

Just my two cents here. I do believe getting a student pass/val in any countries not just malayaia, should not cause a student an anxiety because it fears of rejections and the long delay of approval. Loll are u me?? Same girlll. Also i wonder what took immigration so long while my friends got their VAL in within 2 to 3 days only. And mine still in immigration. The emgs is pretty efficient but when it comes to immigration, it was so slow.

I feel relieved right now-
I would advise you to contact your EMGS and your university . There are a whole procedure you should follow if you want to change your program in the same university (for the same program different code is used for different mode). One thing I learned from my last month in Malaysia you do not want to assume anything here .

Hmm, it is the same program exactly but the mode changed to research mode, and I don’t have much time to apply for another VAL, I will start on 15 February while my VAL released since one week nearly, it was stuck for correction purpose since 27 September. -
And I have read that just if I change the program or the university that I need to apply for new VAL
What do you think?-
Better to send an email to EMGS and explain everything in details along with your passport number you could also call them .Unfortunately, I cant help you but I have seen ppl getting in so much trouble here for different reasons regrading their visa .

My one took 20 days from which there where 12 Working days

Hi Komila. It takes me from 19th December to now to reach 35 percent. Emgs ask for additional docs 2x making it 2 weeks for processing. If your documents all intact and correct it only takes 1 week to be submitted to immigration in my friends case. And she get her val approval in next week. So total 2 weeks.
