Dear EMGS Officer,

I am writing to seek clarification regarding the dependent pass endorsement process for my wife.

My institution has informed me that she must enter Malaysia on a tourist visa before her passport can be submitted for endorsement.

However, I would like to confirm directly with EMGS whether physical presence in Malaysia is strictly mandatory for the endorsement stage.

Could you please clarify the following:

1. Is entry into Malaysia on a tourist visa required before submitting the dependent’s passport for endorsement?
2. Is there any official alternative procedure to submit the passport from Bangladesh (for example, through the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka)?
3. If entry is mandatory, under which immigration guideline or category does this requirement fall?

I would appreciate confirmation of the official procedure so that I may proceed correctly.
