Can you confirm if the new policy of EMGS (for renewing a student visa) is to stamp a new student visa only when the current visa has less than one month left before it expires? Hi Abdurhman Esam,
You may submit your renewal application at least 6 weeks from the expiry of the existing student pass. However, the student must ensure to renew the student pass before the expiry date.

Hi Abdurhman Esam,
Your institution opted to obtain the Student Pass directly at the state Immigration Department. As such, your passport will not be submitted to EMGS. The approval to issue the student pass is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department. As such, kindly liaise with your Institution to confirm on the new policy with the state Immigration Department.
