Hi Oga,
It is best to remain outside of Malaysia while the student visa is in process. This is to avoid any issues with the Immigration department. You may enter when your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) is approved by Immigration.

Kindly note that eVAL is valid for 6 months. Therefore, you are required to use the eVAL within its validity. You may liaise with the institution regarding your arrival plan in Malaysia.
