Hi EMGS, would like some clarification on this matter. I recently renewed my passport and thus I’m aware I have to do the visa transfer from my old passport to new passport. However, I need to travel abroad for a few days and will return to Malaysia. Is it possible for me to travel abroad without my student visa in my new passport? I’ve asked around and was told that I could bring my old passport with me to show the student visa & bring my valid i-Kad as a proof. Once I return to Malaysia, I will immediately apply for the visa transfer.

  Since you have obtained a new passport, your old passport is no longer valid for travel into or out of Malaysia. We highly recommend that you proceed with a Transfer of Endorsement to move your student pass to the new passport before you travel.
