Also is there any way I can leave Malaysia with a cancelled visa after applying for the special pass since I might be pursuing Phd here and I don’t want any conflicts in the future, which is the very exact reason I applied for cancellation in the first place. Otherwise, I’d have been in my country right now and not stuck in the movement restriction. So leaving without cancelling my visa after 2 months of waiting seems like a waste of money and time

Please be informed that your Student Pass cancellation application is currently on hold as the Immigration Department requested your institution to submit a new cover letter. Due to the movement control order (MCO), all applications have been suspended. We are unable to advise you which date to book the flight as the approval to issue you with a pass to exit is at the discretion of the Immigration Department.

If the current pass is canceled in the Immigration Department system, you can proceed to submit your new application. However, if the system detects an active pass upon submission of your application, your institution will be required to refer to the Immigration Department directly.
