Dear EMGS Team,

I am writing to seek clarification regarding my EMGS application and student visa status.

I was initially applying to Malaysia as an exchange student through Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). However, my academic plan has now changed, and I will be joining USM as a research student. I have received my acceptance letter and am currently waiting for the official offer letter.

My EMGS application/reference number is: ME#########

Could you please advise me on the following:

1. Can my existing EMGS application/student pass process be updated from exchange student to research student?
2. If not, do I need to cancel the existing application and submit a new EMGS application?
3. Do I need to apply for a new visa/eVAL or any other immigration document due to this change?
4. Please let me know if there are any additional documents or procedures required from my side.

I would appreciate your guidance on how I should proceed so that there are no issues with my student pass or immigration status.

  Kindly be informed that if you decided to change the course, the institution is require to cancel the eVAL. Once the eVAL is canceled, the institution or student may apply for a new application to obtain the new eVAL. Kindly liaise with the institution for further assistance regarding this matter.

    Dear EMGS team,
    My university has applied for my eval cancellation[Application number-##########] could you please let me know how long it would take the process to complete as my new RESEARCH PROGRAM is starting on November i need to apply for a new eval I would request you to process it sooner so i can apply for new e-val
