The applicant is required to enter Malaysia with a social visit pass and submit a passport for the dependant pass process. You may refer to the link below for further details on the dependant pass application requirement. https://educationmalaysia.gov.my/dependant-pass/.

I got the insurance from the company that provides insurance in my university. I was also applying for dependent visa. But they charged me 700rm for the dependant insurance cover for one year. So check with the comapny that gave you insurance in the university you are in. Ask them to give you quote for another cover for your dependant.
Thank you for your reply. I have discussed this situation with my school before. But the school doesn’t have a partner insurance company to recommend me.

You are required to submit the insurance cover note for the insurance purchased locally. The given insurance should be for medical and health insurance. However, you may refer to the Institution for further recommendation of the insurance plan.
