@sri-thurga Dear EMGS Team,
I am a PhD student, my viva is scheduled for September 6th. I plan to leave Malaysia one week after my viva. My student pass will expire on October 29th. Given these circumstances, I would like to confirm whether I need to renew my student pass if I am leaving Malaysia shortly after my viva. Additionally, I would like to know if there are any specific procedures for canceling the student pass upon my departure, or if the regular exit stamp at the airport will suffice.

Hi Ting Ting,
Kindly be informed that if you have completed your course, you are required to shorten the pass and return to your home country. In this case, you do not need to renew the student pass if you are leaving Malaysia one week after the viva as the pass is still valid to cover your stay in Malaysia. We advise you to liaise with the institute regarding the cancellation of your student pass.
