Hello colleagues
I have been away from the emgs connect for a long time. Now, I am plannig to renew the visa and come back to Malaysia by the end of this year.
Are there any new regulations for travel that I should note?
I understand I can simply book a ticket and come to Penang directly without issues. Is my understanding correct?Have a good…[Read more]

Tip about special pass and renewal timeline:
I am sharing with you my experience so that it may help you reduce unnecessary delays.1. I arrived in Malaysia on 16 Dec with an expired visa but of course I had the TA and Sev both valid
2. The passport control stamped my passport with a Special Pass. It allowed me to stay in Malaysia until January…[Read more]

Hello, do you know if we need to get a booster before 14 days of travel or there’s no such restriction? Also, I’m fully vaccinated with Sinovac, my booster shot should be 1 dose or 2?
-
The update did not pre-condition the booster on a waiting period. For our safety, however, we need to understand that the booster (according to medical research) needs at least seven days to start producing positive results.

Tip for colleagues:
Many of eval applicants get confused about the time periods and the meaning of percentages. So, there are several phases in the application. If any missing document is requested in between, you need to add 3 to 5 working days on top of the general timeline. What do 5%, 15%, 35%, 60% and 70% mean for eval application?
5 means…[Read more]

50% has multiple interpretations usually related to visa renewal.
If the university chooses to have the student pass sticker at the state immigration department, 50% means the approval being given. Aftetwarda, there will be 90% for submitting the passport.
If the university chooses to send the passport to emgs then immigration, 50% would mean…[Read more]

Bro I got my travel authorisation letter, so now i want to apply for the SEV. Do i need to show any bank statement?
-
Unlikely. Check with the embassy in your location though.
-
-
I tried applying for quarantine in MySafeTravel but it only shows the option for 7 days quarantine, I have already gotten my booster shot. Are they fixing it to give the option of 5 days or am I doing something wrong?

Some colleagues were asking about the types of visas and stamps that we usually get. Please see my stamps here:
1. Single entry visa with Journey Performed stamped upon arrival
2. Special pass upon arrival to stay for one month
3. Another special pass obtained from the immigration department after my stay expired.
4. The multiple entry visa, also…[Read more]-

May I know if it’s possible to pay using visa card or Master card from stores and other places if we don’t open a bank account in Malaysia?
-
Absolutely yes. I buy through visa card and Mastercard. I also withdraw from ATMs at an exchange rate of 1 Rm = 0.17 JOD while in my country the rate is 1 Rm = 0.20 Atm is also cheaper at exchange rates than money changers.

Reminder for existing students with expired passes:
In order not to be in the uncomfortable situation that I had with my application delayed for additional three weeks, make sure before you submit your passport to the university that you have paid the medical insurance + renewal fees for every expired year. Also make sure that your visa…[Read more] -

Got the renewed visa sticker finally today, just 24 hours before flying back to Jordan. If you have an expired visa for over one year and you intend to come to Malaysia, be very careful when determining the amounts to be paid and how you make the payment. Otherwise, you will be doomed to learn the lesson in the hard way just as happened to…[Read more]

What is the process to return? My visa expired in January 2020.
-
1. You have three years to renew: 2020, 2021 and 2022.
2. Liaise with your university to (a) get a cover letter for the renewal from our school and send it to the visa department (b) contact teh visa department to ask about how much you need to pay.
3. Send the payment in seperate receipts to emgs account. But, it is IMPORTANT you understand what…[Read more]-

Tip for quarantine:
On day 8, you will get a release letter. If you are at the hotel, the medical staff will remove your wrist band. If on home quarantine, you will take the release letter and go somewhere to have the band removed. They communicate with you through the hotel phone on day 8 or through whatsapp for home quarantine. Don’t remove the…[Read more] -

Thank you for your info, but I tried to reach various insurance companies, they all are saying they cant do insurance until my mother arrives Malaysia. But the immigration is asking for insurance first even before applying for her visa.. Do you have any info about this?
-
Try to see if they accept travel insurance purchased from your country or from online insurers. Lots of companies offer this scehme for as many months as you wish.

-
Can I contact with you. Please give me the whatsapp or email. Thank you so much.

Good news, how long to get 90 %?
-
1. I reached 90 in one month from the start of the renewal application and came to Malaysia.
2. Last week on Friday, it went down to 45 with a notification of a payment that should be made. I paid in the spot but te receipt must be sent from the university.
3. My university sent the receipt on Monday.
4. Today on Friday I got 90%.-
Thanks brother
-
My application still 15 % in a week. What next step to get approval letter from emgs ?
-
No Next step is 35 with emgs vetting your application and ensuring that it is complete. If eveything is ok, then 35 becomes a higher percentage (I don’t remember how much) indicating that your application is being submitted to the immigration department.
If it is 15%yellow, then it means your application has come to a freeze and you need to act…[Read more]
