I would appreciate some guidance regarding my situation. I need to travel to Malaysia for the renewal of my student visa for the third year of my PhD. I was informed that EMGS requires a minimum physical presence of three months within the three-year period. Is this a mandatory requirement?

Your institution opted to obtain the Student Pass directly at the state Immigration Department. As such, your passport was not submitted to EMGS. We advise that you liaise with your institution directly for further assistance on the status of your passport.

Kindly be informed that the institution may apply for a renewal application 3 months before the student visa is expired. Student are required to enter Malaysia for the submission of the passport. As such, kindly refer to the institution for further clarification of this matter.
