Hi Shaima Arab,
Regarding your inquiry about traveling to Malaysia with a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) that was approved on 24th February, please note that the VAL is valid for a period of six months from the date of issuance. Therefore, you would need to arrive in Malaysia before the VAL expires.

Kindly be informed that the eVAL is valid for 6 months. In the event your eVAL has expired, you are required to reapply new application and obtain a new eVAL.

Email your university on this matter. Read this from the immigration website:
Foreign students are allowed to change their course within the same university/colleges with the following conditions:
(i) The university/colleges has to obtain the support letter from EMGS (if applicable);

Bottom line: if you are changing the degree of study or the course in the same degree, then the university will likely cancel your student pass and ask you for a new one. Ask for clarification from your university as you await response from emgs.
Ps. Emgs response through email is faster.
