Dear EMGS, my Visa expired on May 16 and renewal is under processing. Am I going to be harassed my Police if I go out and meet a road block or stopped my Police Officers? How should I verify my legal status in Malaysia? I have hearing from people that Police won’t listen to anything but put you in lock up if I can not show a valid visa. This sounds very stressful and unfair as MCO has caused delay for everyone and I’m not here illegally.

  We understand your concern. However, we recommend that you check with your institution if they are able to provide you a verification letter. Kindly note that the approval to accept any documents supporting your stay in Malaysia is solely at the discretion of the respective Police Officers.
