Same question I asked many time but nobody replied. You can bring your child on visit visa but in order to get dependent pass one has to exit Malaysia so they will travel twice.

But before covid the process was different. Anyone can take their dependents with them then they could convert the dependent pass without any exit that’s why i am asking is it possible to get the tourist visa after 1st April.. thank you

Oh if that’s true you made my day.As borders are open from 1st April we can apply visit visa.

Have you confirmed this as far as one has to exit before getting dependent pass.

I have no idea on that but it was not needed to exit to get dependent pass. The situation was different in that time. If they open for tourists, then hope the process will be same as before.

Hi EMGS and all, i got the VAL yesterday. do you guys fill up the pre-arrival form that mentioned by EMGS and how i will fill up it.. And one thing with my dependent child. get a dependent pass like you did last time. i suggest personally contacting EMGS for further help

but now need a valid pass for dependant pass application through my travel pass.. i got only VAL but they can consider this for child i think. Need a travel pass first to get the pass. Thank you

Just dont overthink, like if something happens you just contact your university and they will fix the issue.

The mother we know had to leave kids with her parents and then they came with the children father later

If you can wait for them to ooen for tourists then maybe your children can come on a tourist visa and then change to a dependent visa but please check with the university, EMGS and embassy of Malaysia if possible first

Yes new dependent… My husband had to first go to Malaysia on his VAL and Quarantine and pass his medical and get his student visa issued before they could apply for my dependent visa. All in all it took about a month….
Also know another student who is a mother who had to go without her child and the child followed later with the father

University will refer you to immigration department and they will say you can’t enter with your dependents, this is quite frustrating sometimes I repent why I took admission in Malaysia.

I’m sorry guys that this is an extra stress… Sadaf I’m glad you found my post… My dependent visa took 7 days but also need to take into account my husband student visa took like 2 weeks and Quarantine before that… So a month all in all

It is okay btw don’t worry. Because I changed universities before and the procedures were like this:
-Cancelling the visa
-Applying for a new visa with the new university
and that’s it.-
