Hello EMGS, My name is Mustapha Salihu had applied for visa recently and received email notifying me of my passport validity. I coming to Malaysia for six months PhD Research Internship at UiTM and My passport expiry date will be 06/10/2025 and my internship will be terminated by 22/12/2024 starting from this June, thus having more ten months before expiry. I was recommended by EMGS to apply for the extension of my passport validity in my home country which will delay my coming to Malaysia. My visa application is still 30%. Can this be explained to me why I am required to extend my passport validity?

    Thank you for your reply, my passport number is A11385090 and I am from Nigeria.

      Hi, Mustapha Salihu.
      Kindly be informed that the passport validity duration must be 18 months and above is the mandatory requirement from the Immigration department to proceed with a student pass application. Therefore, it is best for you to extend the passport validity or apply for a new passport to proceed with the application further.
