Dear EMGs, can you please appeal to the immigration and the government to allow student dependents to come in? They is only a few number of students who have dependents and want them to come inside. We will all get quarantined together so we really don’t post that much of a risk.

Yes please EMGS. We are a number of people and we are in despair. Please give us hope. Please dont make us withdraw and waste the years that we completed. Dear EMGS officer, following up on my previous post about the dependents fee in our bank statements needing to be 20,000 RM instead of the usual 5,000 RM, you have informed me that you are in the midst of clarifying it.

I have the same issue here. I handled the requested amount 3 weeks ago but my family passports are still with the immigration and they might ask for bank statement , so hopefully this decision is postponed as the deposited amount already reduced since depositing. -

The Immigration Department has postponed the RM10,000 bank statement requirement for dependant applications. I saw some people here asking about the dependent pass bank statement requirement changing into enormous amounts so I contact my university and they told me that for one dependent I need to show 20,000 RM in the bank statement. While they previously told me it was 5,000 RM and that this is a new rule by the Immigration.

Dear EMGS,
is it still not possible for existing students to get their dependents? We gave birth to our baby while locked up outside Malaysia and for so long now we are not able to go back because we can not leave our baby behind.
Both me and my wife are PhD students in Malaysia so we can not really travel without our baby, so while it is nice…[Read more]

The entry for all dependents is currently on hold until further notice. We are yet to receive an update from the Immigration Department with regard to the entry for dependents. Rest assured that, we will notify institutions and students once we have the information.
