I read in the comments about the visa renewal for students who are outside Malaysia, but I did not understand how can I come to Malaysia three months after completing the visa ?? !! The question is: I am a student outside of Malaysia and my visa will expire at the beginning of August 2020, how can I renew my visa? And what measures should I take in the event that the country I am currently stuck with is not allowed to travel until the end of the year due to the pandemic.

  You are required to liaise with your institution to submit the Student Pass renewal application. Based on the current process, the Malaysian Immigration Department will only allow you to renew your student pass if your current student pass expiry has not lapsed for more than 3 months. Students will be required to enter Malaysia on a social visit pass and subsequently obtain the renewed student pass. However, we understand that these are exceptional circumstances, hence we will continue to monitor the situation closely regarding the travel ban that is currently in place and update the international students/ institutes on any changes after discussions with the Malaysian Immigration Department.
