I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Rana Md Masud, and I have recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from University Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). My current student visa is valid until 21st September 2025.

I am planning to pursue a Master’s degree in Malaysia and would like to know the proper procedure regarding my visa. Specifically, I would like to ask:

1. Can I apply for a Master’s program while staying in Malaysia with my current student visa?

2. Do I need to cancel my current visa and leave Malaysia before applying for a new one?

3. Is it possible to convert my existing student pass to a new one for the Master’s program without leaving the country?

I would be grateful if you could kindly provide me with the necessary guidance on how to proceed.

  You can apply for a master’s program while staying in Malaysia with your current student visa. However, you must ensure that you meet the admission requirements of the new program.
  
  It is not necessary to cancel your current visa and leave Malaysia before applying for a new one. You may proceed with your application for the master’s program without exiting the country.
  
  Yes, it is possible to convert your existing student pass to a new one for the master’s program without leaving Malaysia. Once you have received an offer from the institution, they will guide you through the process of applying for a new student pass.
