Dear officer, I’m russian, I have been to Malaysia 7 times, sometimes for just couple days to visit KL, sometime for a month to explore different beautiful places on Borneo. I never been asked for any SEV or another visa to entry Malaysia, as many of my Russian friends. Could you please explain me why do you ask me to apply for SEV now, after I […] View

I came here for October intake. I submitted my passport and it was 100% in first week of November. I switched my intake to February & I’m currently in Malaysia.
Will that cause any problem or it’s okay?

You might face issues when it comes to the Student Pass renewal. It is advisable that you seek further assistance from your institution with regard to this.

Please take note that the course name on the Offer Letter does not match the course name on the IM14 form. The institute is required to submit the correct documents.

    What is this?

This is the current status of my visa application.

    I am afraid of this.

      Hi Tasnim,

It means that the course name that is listed on the offer letter, is not the same as the course name selected in the application form. As such, your institution is required to submit the correct documents. Kindly liaise with your institution for further details.

      Have a nice day.

      Hi Mazaya,

Applicants are required to remain in their home countries during the processing of their VAL applications. The applications will be rejected if the applicants enter Malaysia during the processing of the VAL applications.

I told the malaysian embassy that I am an Indonesian student and my VAL is currently in progress, my passport is still with me as the emgs only require the scanned version of it, I need to be in Malaysia only for a few days, from 13th-17th December, and the embassy told me I can go to MY and that there’ll be no problem. @mazaya When you enter the country on a Social Visa, your details will be detected in the Immigration Department system when the application is submitted for VAL approval. Since you would have entered the country during the application process, your application will most likely be rejected by the Immigration Department.

The next step should be applying fro SEV and traveling to Malaysia. Other step will be done by internations student center of your university. Do report there when you reach your university. I hope this helped.

      Hi Mansour,

Congratulations on the approval of your VAL application. Applicants from Syria are not required to apply for the SEV prior to their travel to Malaysia. As such, you can arrange for your travel to Malaysia. However, you are required to present the VAL at the point of entry.

      Have a nice day.

I f you come from the country which requires the Single Entry Visa, you have to bring the VAL to the nearest Malaysian Embassy in order to get the Single Entry Visa. After that you can go to Malaysia.
If you come from the country which doesn’t require the Single Entry Visa then you can go to Malaysia and bring the VAL when you arrive there.

      Hi Mohamed Al Zaki,

Congratulations on the approval of your VAL application. Kindly note that applicants from Iraq do not require a Single Entry Visa (SEV) to enter Malaysia. As such, you can proceed to arrange for your travel to Malaysia.

      Have a nice day.

An application will only reach 100% after the endorsement of the Student Pass. This process will be completed upon your arrival in Malaysia.

It is too soon to be submitting the application now, since your intake is February 2020. Kindly note that VAL applications can be submitted no more than 3 months before the applicant’s entry into Malaysia. We advise that you liaise with your institution.
