Hi EMGS,

I am a prospective UM postgraudate student from China. My application to the Imigresen is in progress. I would like to ask few questions regarding to the DEPENDENT PASS.

My girlfriend(also from China) and I would like to go through our marriage formalities in Hong Kong. I am wondering, for the application of dependency pass:

1. If the marriage is after my approval of student pass, is she eligible to apply for the dependent pass?

2. For the application of dependent pass, can we submit the marriage document issued by Hong Kong government?

  Kindly be informed that the institution is required to apply for the dependent application once the student pass has been issued by the Immigration.
  
  Kindly note that you are required to submit copy of the marriage certificate and copy of the marriage certificate that is translated into English (if it is currently in any other language). Kindly translate it into English by an authorised translation company. The copy of marriage certificate also must be attested by the Embassy in Malaysia and the date of the Embassy’s stamp must be within the three months
