I would appreciate your advice on the following situation.
My Student Pass expires on 4 September 2026. I have received a full-time job offer, and my employer is ready to proceed with an Employment Pass application. However, the EP application requires my completion letter, which my institution expects to issue only in about one month — after my Student Pass has already expired.
I am therefore considering the Graduate Pass as a bridge to maintain my legal status while the EP is being processed.
My question is:
If my Student Pass expires while my Graduate Pass application is still under process, am I eligible for a Special Pass marked “Pending Decision”? Or would only a Check-Out Memo (COM) be issued?
I understand a COM would disqualify me from applying for any pass within Malaysia, including the Employment Pass, so I would like to confirm this before proceeding.
