It’s not a problem at all when you arrive earlier before your intake.. your institution will proceed with your student pass application once you arrive to the country and have done and passed your medical. Good luck.

Hey guys just submitted my passport for SEV today in Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, Indonesia. Wanna share documents needed (this is for indonesia for other countries might be different)
-1 set of offer letter from your uni
-Printed VAL (Visa Approval Letter)

Aww do not worry u will get VAL soon. To 32 to 35 takes 1 to 2 working days and from 35 to 70 VAL approval takes 7 working days.. it will be fine if they dont required additional docs u will get VAL within 2 weeks.

I seee. I think you will make it just in time. Approval takes 7 days and after that sev only takes 3 working days. Maybe u will be late for 2 to 3 days and miss orientation but im sure u wont miss out that much.

Just my two cents here. I do believe getting a student pass/val in any countries not just malayaia, should not cause a student an anxiety because it fears of rejections and the long delay of approval. Loll are u me?? Same girlll. Also i wonder what took immigration so long while my friends got their VAL in within 2 to 3 days only. And mine still in immigration. The emgs is pretty efficient but when it comes to immigration, it was so slow.

My one took 20 days from which there where 12 Working days

Ahh i see. I guess we can really never tell. Some got val in less than 5 working days, some even more than 10 working days.

I got my passport student visa sticker .I learned a lot about Visa processing steps and what you should and should not do . Thank you all .

Hi Komila. It takes me from 19th December to now to reach 35 percent. Emgs ask for additional docs 2x making it 2 weeks for processing. If your documents all intact and correct it only takes 1 week to be submitted to immigration in my friends case. And she get her val approval in next week. So total 2 weeks. Some cases immigration requires correction or confirmation. But so far when its at emgs they do their best to vet the documents to minimize immigration asking for additional docs.

Julia , since you are a senior student and have been to Malaysia before . I have questions if you do not mind .
What could happen if my eval expire while the immigration processing the student sticker with my passport ?-
How about your Sev? As i know, immigration will facilitate u with 3 months special pass if you dont need to obtain SEV while your student sticker is on progress. My SEV act as special pass for 3 months while they proceed with my student pass. But if your VAL expired while your in process, immigration may or may not reject it. That is why they gave…[Read more]

I did get the Sev , but I am more worried about eval since it is going to expire in 2 days , I have contacted emgs and my university multiple times and no one have a clear answer . sev ll expire in a week which but val in 2 days .
