Can someone explain please what is a supporting letter and it will take how many days to get it?

    • Profile picture of mbwana
mbwana replied 8 years, 2 months ago

Supporting letter means your uni will do the student pass process for you after you come to Malaysia. Your uni will have to send the entry stamp to EMGS so that EMGS can give them the supporting letter to take to Immigration. Makes sense?

What is validity of val? For 6 months or 3 months,?

    • Profile picture of Aliyu Alka
Aliyu Alka replied 8 years, 3 months ago

      Six months

      • Profile picture of Madiha Ahmad
Madiha Ahmad replied 8 years, 3 months ago

Then sev is valid for 3 months? I am confused

        • Profile picture of Ifedayo
Ifedayo replied 8 years, 2 months ago

Don’t be confused. VAL stands for Visa approval Letter, while SEV, its for Single entry visa. The VAL is valid for 6 months which means within this period you can apply for your SEV in your home country, while the SEV is valid for 3 months, it means within this period you can travel to Malaysia. Hope it clears up now.

It could be that your institute is still organizing your documents for application submission

      • Profile picture of Madiha Ahmad

That’s odd, try checking the tracker on their website through a browser and not the app.. if still nothing email emgs and ask them.. it should show

As as I know , Actually, there are two parrell processes, first, direct apply through EMGS portal and second one is Universiti applies on your behalf so if your case is latter one, you should have to wait till they keyed in your application in EMGS portal.

    • Profile picture of Nadia Sohail
Nadia Sohail replied 8 years, 3 months ago

Yes,it happens, your institute may late the process by their own, they have to approve your application and pay the fee then emgs starts your process.
