Hello EMGS, My name is Fardena Tuj Momo and my passport number is A12726517
My eVAL application was rejected by the Immigration Department on 19 September 2026. Today, 21 September, representatives from my institution’s International Office went to Immigration to clarify the reason for the rejection. They were informed that the rejection was because my programme commencement date, 14 September 2026, had already passed.
My institution has now submitted an appeal by email, together with a supporting letter confirming that they accept my late entry and that I can still commence my studies upon arrival. I would like to kindly ask:
1) Is there any specific timeframe for processing a VAL appeal?
2) Since my commencement date has already passed, is there any possibility for the appeal to be expedited?
3) My EMGS Hub application is still showing “VAL Reject” and has not yet changed to a processing/appeal status. Is this normal after an institution submits an appeal or will the status be updated once EMGS processes the appeal?
I would greatly appreciate any clarification regarding the appeal process and expected timeframe. Thank you
