Yes, I am a masters student. I’ve been given the VAL and I’ve also received SEV from Nigeria which is valid for 3months and will be changed to a student visa by my institution when I get to Malaysia. The question now is, can I stay for 3 weeks more in my home country or 14days after collecting the SEV.

You’ll need to get an eligiy letter from the ministry of education at Abuja. Then you’ll authenticate your documents there. You’ll also authenticate your certificates at the ministry of foreign affairs with the NDLEA certificate…then you’ll process to the malaysia embassy at Abuja for to process the SEV.

I had issues of additional documents…so it took almost 2 months

Same here… How long have u Been waited?? My val process has increased to 35% yesterday… Now I m waiting for the approval. Let’s hope gor the best….

Hi Mariam,
The VAL approval process takes approximately 7-10 working days. However, the approval is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.

You need to submit an appeal at the same panel clinic that made the test. The doctor there will write clarifications and send them to emgs. The emgs will make a final decision. The students are allowed to appeal with regards to the medical screening result. If the student wishes to appeal, kindly contact the clinic where the students were examined immediately.
