Urgent Help Needed!​ I’m facing a critical issue with my student visa renewal application and would greatly appreciate any advice or official guidance.
Timeline:
January 29: Submitted the visa renewal application.
February 12: Submitted my passport as requested upon notification.
February 19: Received notification from the ISC of UTM that my passport submission was rejected, citing it as “submitted too early.”
My Special Circumstances:
I successfully completed my Ph.D. VIVA defense in September 2025, but I have not yet received the official graduation letter/degree certificate (i.e., I have not formally graduated).
I have accepted a teaching position at a university in China and must report for duty by February 28, 2025. Therefore, I must depart before this date.
The Confusion & Issue:
When I initially submitted the renewal application, I provided a written explanation of my situation to both the university and EMGS and was granted permission to proceed with the application.
The current rejection puts me at serious risk of not being able to depart on time.
Core Questions & Urgent Requests:
For students in my transitional status-“defense completed but not formally graduated” are there any special visa processing procedures or policies?
What is the most urgent solution right now? Should I resubmit the application immediately?
Is there an official channel for expedited processing​ to resolve this in time?
