As I understood from your case, what’s missing is that the university is the one who should notify emgs about the change of passport and send a copy of the new one and ask for eval edit.

So keep contact with your university about this and if they say they already sent then ask for the case number to follow up with emgs using this number.

Some universities send the steps and you follow and do payments, others ask you to send documents and they apply for you and ask you to pay through a link or through the university

Don’t scan by yourself, go to the photocopy shop and ask for high quality scanning

At least 3 months before the end date you have to submit the paperwork to visa center in your university to do the necessary without the need to leave the country. But make sure your gpa for first year is ok.

You go directly to their office during working hours, take a token number from the reception counter, and wait for your turn.

It’s not EMGS mistake if someone books a flight without having a passport in hand.
Plus they do all the work and checking because immigration is a high authority that does not have time to contact each student.
Don’t forget that the number of students applying is huge, that’s why they take time.

They asked for emgs approval letter, original passport, and student confirmation letter from the faculty.

You have to email them the explanation and details.
They are not asking about the list in the airport, however you can email them and wait to be in the safe side.

If your eval expired then you must start new application process and payment to get new eval and travel.

I don’t know about Nigerians, but I booked one way and when the airlines stopped me before flying and asked about the return flight I showed them the eval because it says one year duration stay and they allowed me. So I guess check the airlines.

You should because the eval is paper only and it’s not the student pass, the student pass is a sticker on passport like resident visa and you only get it once you pass medical check.
So u submit the passport to reach 100% in your application as the eval only 70%

No be careful.
eVal is valid for 6 months, if you don’t enter Malaysia before it ends it will be cancelled and you have to apply again for new one and pay again.
Visa is also valid for 3 months only.
