Yes, I did the same thing, my flight is in January 06 and will land at Penang Airport. Then I will hire a taxi to any hotel nearest to USM and will stay until Monday. Monday I will get accommodation at university hostel.

I need to know about accommodation where I could stay and is there any person from the university can pick me from Airport. I know that I can book university hostel after registration. But I need my accommodation whenever I will be there.
I guess u need to ask USM accommodation section itself , students cannot give u right answer, or rules might have changed
I heard international unit will pick up I. Students
The person who once received students from Airport informed me that they do not pick students any more and suggested me to take a taxi which will cost only 25 rm.
