Hi EMGS!

I have a question. I am a Filipino and currently on a dependent pass under my wife who’s a school principal in an international school here in KL.

I am planning either to take an MBA or pursue LLB Hons. I wonder if I have to convert my current pass to a student pass. If yes, do I have to exit Malaysia and return to my home country to process it?

I will appreciate your response. Thank you.

  In the event that you are converting your dependant pass to a student pass, you may remain in Malaysia with a valid pass. You must apply for a student pass through the institution where you plan to study. However, the approval to remain in Malaysia is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.
