Dear EMGS Officer,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to inquire about my current student visa application, which is currently showing 30% progress on the EMGS portal. The remarks indicate the following:
1. “The Institute is required to submit a copy of the current valid pass since the previous student pass has expired; or the exit stamp and an amendment request to change the application type from Progression to New if the student has exited the country.”
2. “Please note that the commencement date stated in the Offer Letter is backdated. The Institute is required to submit a new offer letter with the latest commencement date or a deferment letter in order to resume processing.”

I have consulted the university staff, and they mentioned that it might be necessary to return to my home country to wait for visa approval. However, since I am currently in Malaysia, have already registered and started attending classes at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for my Master’s programme, I would like to confirm:
• What documents or steps should I provide or take in order to continue the processing of my visa without leaving Malaysia?
• Is there any specific document that my institute (USM) needs to resubmit to EMGS?

Additionally, I can provide my exit and entry records, as well as proof of registration and payment for my postgraduate studies, if they are needed to support the application.

For your reference, I am a former USM undergraduate student, and I am now pursuing my postgraduate studies at USM.

I would greatly appreciate your kind guidance on how to resolve this issue and proceed with my application.
