Hi emgs

I’m studying in Malaysia, and I have the right to work for 20 hours a week. I asked my university for a letter confirming this, but they said they don’t want to provide one. I have found an employer who is willing to give me a letter.

What should I do? Can you provide me with some advice on this? And could you share some sample letters for this type of situation?

  Kindly be informed that are not allowed to work using the student visa. Students working without permission will be in breach of their Student Pass and may have their Pass revoked. If student is given permission he/she may only work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week during semester breaks or holidays of more than seven days while studying full-time in Malaysia. Applications to work must be made through the respective institution. Kindly refer to institution for further checking on this matter.
