I hope this message finds you well. Allow me to introduce myself – my name is Cristian Barbulescu, and I am a third-year Economics student from Romania currently enrolled at Universiti Malaya. I am writing to seek your kind assistance regarding an urgent matter with my student visa application.

Due to a change in my circumstances, I have had to transition my student pass from a dependent visa to a standalone independent student visa. All relevant documents, including a letter from the Immigration Department detailing my situation, have been attached to this email for your reference. Unfortunately, this process has resulted in a pressing deadline, as my current visa is set to expire on 16th March 2025.

I have already coordinated with the Visa Office at Universiti Malaya, and Mr. Firdaus, the Head of Department, has informed me that all required documents have been submitted to EMGS for approval, it is currently only at 15% progress bar. Additionally, I have reached out to EMGS directly via email and other channels (Inquiry Case No: 2758673), but I have yet to receive a response. Given the limited time remaining, I am deeply concerned about the possibility of delays affecting my legal status in Malaysia.

I humbly request your assistance in expediting this matter with the Immigration Officer at EMGS. My application details are as follows:

  Your application is currently on hold as we require a new offer letter from the institute. Kindly liaise with the institute and request that they submit the additional documents at their earliest convenience.

    Dear EMGS,
    
    Thank you very much. There is already a letter attached to the application and attached in this forum from Mr. Tazrin (Protocol & Consular), Immigration Malaysia, CC’d in this email. The letter clearly explains the circumstances regarding the transition from a diplomatic-dependent visa to a student visa due to Wisma Putra regulations, which do not allow children of diplomats above 21 years old to study as dependents. Despite this letter not being sufficient, re-issuing a new offer letter is almost impossible due to the extraordinary nature of the circumstances, however, Universiti Malaya’s Head of Visa Unit, Mr. Firdaus, has already been informed and will try to resolve the issue.
