To whom it may concern,

My name is Hassan Mish’al Junaid, and I’m a prospect student for Sunway University, Malaysia.

I have entered Malaysia on 18th August. 2024. However, after going to the EMGS counter, they have failed to guide me through the Immigration process after making us wait for more than an hour at the counter. I tried calling the representative with no success as well.

After waiting for a while, an EMGS staff came and told that I have to go to the Immigration counter, which was after I showed my passport along with my student EVAL letter and acceptance letters from Sunway University. Note, they did not write any reference number on the passport (LA28E4540) once shown.

After, when they told me to go to the Immigration office, which was done according to the EMGS new student Manual, I was told that I needed to go to the Immigration counter. Again, I told them multiple times that I am a student and acted according to their guidance.

Once after going to the counter, I told the office at the counter that I am a student and showed all of my letters and all the documents required for the “Special pass”, however, they provided the visitor pass. I told the office that I am a student and I need to get the Visa. They told me that I need to go with the passport to my agent (which is Sunway University), and when I did, they could not accept the visitor pass, which was as how I expected.

Due to this simple mistake by the immigration and representatives, I am now forced to bear a cost which I am not responsible for while I am living alone. My parents are concerned about me and so is the rest of my family. This is a huge task to carry out for a small mistake. With high expectations only for it to be gone away, I came to Malaysia with little funds just for the sake of progressing my career in a very prestigious university.

I kindly request for your help on this matter, if not, please support in reporting this case and avoid this from happening again to new students who are arriving for studies as well.
