I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to seek clarification on the dependent pass application process for my child while I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Malaysia.
I have reviewed the official requirements for a dependent pass as listed on the Education Malaysia website（https://educationmalaysia.gov.my/required-documents-for-dependants/）, and I am in the process of gathering the necessary documents. However, I have noticed that my university, UCSI, has additional requirements that are not listed on the official website. Specifically, UCSI requires a “Copy of relationship letter from the Embassy,” in addition to the marriage certificate and its English translation.
I am curious to know if the relationship letter from the Embassy is a mandatory document for the dependent pass application. I believe that the marriage certificate and my child’s birth certificate should sufficiently establish the relationship between my child and me. Could you please confirm whether the additional document is required by EMGS or if it is a specific requirement from UCSI?
Furthermore, regarding the financial requirements for the dependent pass, the UCSI guidelines state that a bank account must be opened and maintained with an average monthly balance of RM10,000 for at least three months. I would like to inquire if it is acceptable to submit the application with a two-month history of maintaining a balance of RM60,000 in my account. I am eager to ensure that all requirements are met promptly and correctly.
