Hi,

I am from SEGi University. I arrived last May, but due to some issues, I was unable to study as my father faced a significant business loss, and I couldn’t clear the fees. The university held my passport, so I couldn’t return home.

My visa expired on June 14, 2024. The bursary contacted me yesterday, allowing me to go back with a letter of understanding. However, when I went to the international office, they informed me that because it’s been almost a month, I need to pay RM 1000 for overstaying and RM 154 for an extra pass. While the charges are not an issue, they mentioned that the immigration process could take a lot of time.

I am not well and am eager to return home soon. Please help me understand how long this process will actually take.
