Dear Emgs,
I’m Li Xi, passport number:E56075250.
My latest student visa will expire on July 10, 2024, and I need to renew it now. And my passport will expire in 15 months, which is July 19, 2025, less than 18 months. But I expect to graduate at just January 31, 2025. If I only need to renew until January 2025, can I apply for a renewal without changing my passport? Because I am a Chinese public official, it is very troublesome for me to apply a new passport. Thank you for your understanding and look forward to your reply.

  Kindly be informed that it is recommended for the passport validity duration is 12 months and above upon applying for the renewal of student visa.
