Dear staff,
Do I need a passport valid for more than 18 months to apply for a student visa renewal? My passport will expire in 14 months. Can I apply for a new passport and then apply for a student visa renewal directly? Or do I have to apply for a visa transfer first?

  For a renewal application, the recommended passport validity is 12 months from the date of application.
