Dear EMGS,

I have completed my masters degree from USM and I’m waiting for senate letter to register for the PhD in different university in Malaysia, but my visa will expired in the 2025/January , how can I apply for another visa through the new university and for your info now I am in my country.
With the receipt of the senate letter, does the visa automatically expire, or does it have to be canceled first, knowing that I am outside Malaysia?

  Hi Hareth Ajaleen,
  
  In the event, that you are completed your study, you are required to shorten the student pass before exit Malaysia. Your student pass will not be canceled automatically prior to your exit from Malaysia. Kindly be informed that if your intake for your new Institution is after your student pass expiry, you may apply as a new applicant from your country. Kindly take note that the approval to issue the student pass is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.
