Not about Airlines but consigned about malaysia immigration if is compulsory to book return flight ticket.
No no, only one way ticket is needed plus it is not possible to book a flight one year in advance with any airline (max 6-11 months)

Hi Jerry, you’ll be booking a round trip ticket. I am a Nigerian and I arrived in Malaysia few days ago
I don’t know about Nigerians, but I booked one way and when the airlines stopped me before flying and asked about the return flight I showed them the eval because it says one year duration stay and they allowed me. So I guess check the airlines.
