    • Seriously?

    • For sure u can work full time too as i did

    • I heard that we are not allowed to have part time jobs

      • @keira All international students studying at public or private higher education institutions are allowed to work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week ONLY during semester breaks or holidays of more than 7 days at restaurants, petrol kiosks, mini markets, and hotels as long as their student passes remain valid. Please note that prior approval from the Department of Immigration is required.

International students are NOT permitted to work as cashiers. In addition, in the hotel sector, international students are NOT allowed to work as singers, masseurs, musicians, or GROs (Guest Relation Officers). International students are not allowed to engage in any job or activity deemed to be immoral.

Applications to work part-time must be made through the educational institution at which the international students are enrolled. The international student needs to be present with the representative of the educational institution at the Immigration Department of Malaysia in order to submit an application for part-time work.

      Have a nice day.

    • @Towsif Doing a part-time job is allowed during semester (like on weekends or after your class). I did some when I was undergraduate and some of my friends do it frequently. There’s no problem. I think the one specified during the semester break is the industrial training (internships)

      • Did u do it without an application form? And how many hours can an international student do it for?

        • I have to admit yes, did it without the form. I didn’t really know the rules at the time and kind of just did it. I did a SIM card promoter job on weekends 8-10 hours/day for 3 months (not on a semester break or holidays). I would suggest to use the form the first time you do it, the hour limit is also for your own good (so that you don’t get behind on your study). After you know more about Malaysia and your own limits, you will know what’s possible & safe and what’s not and can decide for yourself how you want to do things
