This is the second year for me as a student and they have always responded to my questions as well as to others efficiently. All my applications and visa renewals went very smoothly. I do remember that so many others have had the same experience. Emgs is indeed working very hard on its part and follows with all complaints very patiently. Imagine if there is no emgs service like this. We would have to take up our applications from one agency to another by ourselves. Emgs is doing incredible work behind the scenes. Things may not happen as we wish sometimes, but it has never been their fault. They act on our applcations properly under the law that governs them. 90% of the applications are subject to the discretion of the immigration department and universities. To give you one example, my val last year was completed exactly within the time frame emgs states. My visa was obtained within ten days upon arrival to Malaysia. When I applied for the renewal, my application went very smoothly and upon arrival to Malaysia I got the sticker on my passport in just three days. Emgs officers are humans and have feelings as well. Their hard work should not be underestimated or ridiculed. We all have a problem with the travel ban, but this is definitely not an emgs issue. Emgs just facilitates the transition on the processing of our applications. I can say that last year, the majority of students on this platform have applauded emgs performance.
We do, however, hope that emgs could pass on the concerns of students to the immigration department for consideration as the fate of international students is indeed at stake, given the travel ban. I agree that the ban should at least consider the special conditions of students who cannot enroll in online courses, such as medical and engineering students who must attend laboratory sessions.
The bottom line is that emgs’s proclaimed mandate and promise are to pass on all student documents back and froth to the institution and the immigration department. This is their very specific and only job. In this respect, I safely and honestly say emgs has indeed delivered on its promises.
Totally agree with you. Emgs has been always incredibly supportive and I is unfair to set the blame on them for matters not in their hands.
Oh can you please tell me how emgs ‘ always been incredibly supportive??
