Dear EMGS,

is it still not possible for existing students to get their dependents? We gave birth to our baby while locked up outside Malaysia and for so long now we are not able to go back because we can not leave our baby behind.

Both me and my wife are PhD students in Malaysia so we can not really travel without our baby, so while it is nice that students can apply to go back, for us it is as if it was never opened. Any indication? Everyone talks about existing and new students but no one talks about their dependents.

Our research is being stagnant, I need to be on campus for special equipment and my wife has an NDA with a Malaysian company that has a time limit and basically we are helpless here because we can’t just leave our baby and travel.

Please advise and help.

  The entry for all dependents is currently on hold until further notice. We are yet to receive an update from the Immigration Department with regard to the entry for dependents. Rest assured that, we will notify institutions and students once we have the information.
