I secure a PhD admission to study at the Universiti Utara Malaysia before the advent of the Corona Virus. While processing my documents and doing the needful for a smooth migration to Malaysia, the Covid-19 pandemic led to a global halt in activities.
After the wait and all that, I checked the website of the Malaysia High Commission in my country. From the site I got to know about the Letter of undertaking and Indemnity and also the Health Declaration which I download I fill.
I also have the EMGS VAL, Duely signed VISA form, and all relevant documents.
But when I visited the Embassy, I was told I need an APPROVAL LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF IMMIGRATION.

  wish i had seen your post earlier, wouldnt have paid for EMGS.I got admitted in UUM masters program, i am not sure my eVal will be ready before september not to even talk of SEV and travel authorisation.

  The entry for new international students is on hold until further notice. As such, you are required to remain in your home country until the Immigration Department grants approval to allow new international students entry into Malaysia.
