Dear EMGS,
I have an inquiry. My student visa is until October 2020. I am going to apply dependent visa for my son and mother. So for insurance period does it need to be one year even though there is only 7 months left from my student visa? I will probably not be extending.

  Hi Salwa,
  
  It is mandatory that you purchase insurance for a period which will cover the dependents until the expiry of the dependent passes. However, insurance for dependents is purchased directly from insurance providers and not through EMGS. As such, it is advisable that you refer to the insurance providers or your institution directly for further details.
