(Nobody from the EMGS) If only your passport has the last name and the rest of the docs, as in your birth certificate and all academic transcripts/certificates don’t have the last name, I THINK it will be better if you can change the remove the last name from your passport. Because even if you get a supporting letter or a clearance paper from city corporation, you MIGHT face problems with your visa renewal later on. My brother had a similar problem (from BD too), only worse. So I THINK, if it’s possible to correct the doc first, please do. Even if you have to take the next semester.

Please be informed that the details in your passport should tally with the details listed in the academic transcript. If there is a discrepancy in the details, you are required to obtained supporting documents from the respective Education Board. However, there is no guarantee that the application will be approved as the decision is solely at the discretion of the Immigration Department.
