It will take your university around 4 working days to submit your documents to emgs. Then, Emgs will take around 14 working days to vet your documents and send it to immigration but could take more time as it is at the discretion of the immigration department. I think you have a little chance to get it renewed on time due to late renewal application. Liaise with UTM to ask when and how you can apply for a special pass should the renewal takes time over the expiry date of the visa.

The renewal process takes 14 working days from the date we receive your passport (applicable only to passports endorsed with EMGS). However, if the Student Pass will be endorsed at the state Immigration Department we advise that you check with your institution directly. The Special Pass application is different from the renewal application. The Special Pass application gets you a valid pass so you can remain in Malaysia during the processing of your renewal application. The renewal application is to extend the validity of your Student Pass for a certain period of time.
