Inquiry About UniKL Student Visa/EMGS Process and English Requirement
Hello EMGS Team,
I would like to kindly request clarification on the following matters regarding my planned study at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL):
Student Pass Application:
Can you confirm if UniKL is registered with EMGS and able to submit the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) application on behalf of international postgraduate applicants?
If so, am I required to apply directly in the EMGS system, or will UniKL submit all documents to EMGS for the student pass process?
Processing Timeframe:
What is the typical processing timeline from the date UniKL submits documents to EMGS until the VAL is issued?
Is there a current expected waiting period for January/July intake applications?
English Language Requirement:
I do not currently have an English proficiency certificate (e.g., IELTS/TOEFL).
Does UniKL accept applicants without an English certificate by placing them in an English language program (e.g., English Language Intensive Programme – E-LIP) as part of the initial student pass?
Will this still allow issuance of a student pass for the preparation course before the main program?
Student Pass Inclusion:
If I join an English language pathway (E-LIP) due to lacking an English certificate, will this be included in the student pass coverage?
For reference, I understand from UniKL’s official international admission information that if you do not have an English proficiency certificate, you may automatically join UniKL’s English Language Intensive Programme, and UniKL will apply for the VAL via EMGS after I pay the initial enrollment fee.
Please advise what documents I should prepare and the next steps as an international applicant without an English certificate.
Thank you.
