You can’t travel while your passport being renewed.
There’s a story happened with my friend. His passport was renewing but at that time his father passed away. He had to go to funeral immediately. He reached out to EMGS to get back his passport as soon as possible but EMGS said, if you will cancel renewal process then we need to put you in blacklist and you never will be able to enter Malaysia. He was crying in the EMGS office, because it was his final year and if he cancels, all his 3 years studies was going to be in vain. Anyways, he canceled his visa and went back to his home country.
