It depends on country to country.
I am from Pakistan I had applied for eVisa and got my eVisa on the second working day. So after applying you will know.
Okay thanks! I have informed my university and will follow their instructions on when to go to my nearest embassy otherwise there might be a problem with my visa duration if I obtain it too early.
There is no any problem in visa duration until unless you fly within 3 months after getting a visa, and after entering therein Malaysia your passport will be stamped for One month stay. Within that 1 month, you need to do necessary things for a student pass.
Mostly Institutes don’t care/don’t have info on when to get a visa etc.
My institute has informed me to go to my nearest embassy one and a half month prior to my commencement date.
Wow I never know Pakistani can apply eVisa

It took me 2 working days to be in progress with EMGS, when it will reach 32%.
